关于 ABOUT

The Los Angeles Chen Tai Chi Center is dedicated to providing Chen Style Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes to the Los Angeles area. It was founded by Master Qichen Guo. Currently, classes are held in Mar Vista and North Hollywood. In addition to traditional classroom style and private classes, seminars and flexible format courses/programs are offered to schools and businesses wishing to give their staff the health benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong training.

Master Qichen Guo is a specialist in traditional Chen Style Taijiquan. He brings together the training methods of four Chen Tai Chi grandmasters, experienced and compiled during his years of study in Henan, China. His teaching provides an emphasis on meditation and health, as well as a focus on combat and self-defense. Both programs to learn Tai Chi for Health or as a Martial Art are offered. And since his teachings come directly from the most renowned Grandmasters of Tai Chi in the world, those who study under him are in a unique position to receive the highest quality authentic and traditional Tai Chi training. This is in contrast to some martial arts schools or alternative health centers which teach Tai Chi in forms or styles that have been watered down, or where the connection to their traditional roots have been lost. Many people say they teach Tai Chi, but are lacking the knowledge of core Tai Chi principles. In order to grasp the full benefits of Tai Chi, whether for health or self-defense, the highest level principles must be learned and fully absorbed.

At the Los Angeles Chen Tai Chi Center, these traditional and crucial principles are not only given, but taught in a practical way to help practitioners shorten the training time needed to attain results. This modernizes the training, allowing students to obtain the best of the old and new.

What is Chen Style Tai Chi?

Chen Style Tai Chi is the first style of Tai Chi to be created, in or around 1644 in Chen Village (Chenjiagou) located in Wenxian County, Henan Province, China. Legends indicate that other ancient forms of Tai Chi may have existed before then, but the oldest documented tradition is that of the Chen Family. If you choose to learn Tai Chi, there are many styles to choose from, however, all other styles currently in existence: Yang, Wu, Hao, Sun, et al. stem from the Chen style.

The benefits to studying Chen Style Tai Chi over another style are numerous. Since it is the original style, you will be studying the art in the purest, most traditional form available today. There are many forms of Tai Chi currently being taught that are very faro from the origins of the art. The forms and postures of Tai Chi created by the Chen masters were designed with specific purposes and reasons in mind, in order to provide the maximum health and martial benefit to its practicioners.

His full understanding of the theory of Taijiquan, incorporation of theory and techniques, and methodology of teaching have been well received by students all over the world.

二、项目(project )

The Los Angeles Chen Tai Chi Center offers Tai Chi instruction through programs taught in a traditional class format, as well as seminars and accelerated courses suitable for organizational training.

Classes

Tai Chi since its creation was taught as a martial art for self-defense, the practice of which resulted in numerous health benefits. These health benefits are due to its unique development of internal energy and its focus on balance within the body. Today many people are interested in learning Tai Chi for its health benefits alone, with no interest in its combative origins. We offer a program for such individuals, as well as teaching Tai Chi as a martial art in its original format. If you choose to learn Tai Chi as a martial art, you will still enjoy the many health benefits it has to offer.

Corporate and Company

Qichen Guo has crafted seminars and classes suitable for organizational training, most recently at Alhambra Hospital. He can teach the basics of internal energy fundamentals leading to stress relief and proper posture for your employees.

Tai Chi as Martial Art

In its original form, Tai Chi is an effective and high level martial art. Its focus on internal energy development and the cultiviation of ting jin (listening energy) allows for the near instinctual delivery of whole body power while simultaneouly providing the ability to avoid your opponent’s attacks.

The Los Angeles Chen Tai Chi Center accomplishes these goals through a program consisting of internal energy fundamentals, push hands and traditional forms. Qichen Guo has developed this comprehsive program in order to effectively teach these seemingly elusive concepts in a down to earth and easy to understand format. Below is our typical Tai Chi for Martial Art program.
