S08 Direction | S09 Continuity

This practice introduces rotation as an organized movement —
not twisting, not forcing,
but turning while structure remains clear.

Rotation reveals whether axis and release are present.

30-Second Practice

Stand comfortably.

With minimal effort,
allow the torso to turn slightly to one side.

Do not initiate the movement with the shoulders.
Let the turn emerge from the center.

Return to neutral.
Turn gently to the other side.

Move slowly.
Stay aware of axis and release.

Continue for about 30 seconds.

What you may notice

  • Turning feels lighter than expected
  • Less tension in the shoulders or hips
  • A sense of continuity through the movement

If rotation feels blocked,
return briefly to Axis or Release before continuing.

Common mistakes

  • Twisting the shoulders independently
  • Forcing range of motion
  • Losing axis while turning

Rotation is not about how far you turn,
but how clearly the body organizes the turn.

Rotation, axis, and release

Axis provides reference.
Release reduces resistance.
Rotation tests both.

If either is missing, rotation becomes effortful.

Next step

After rotation becomes smooth,
balance and direction will naturally clarify.
